Embarrassed Spotify users vow to hack their ‘Wrapped’ results – they’d ‘rather be in jail’ than reveal the truth

The countdown has begun to expose your most humiliating music search history.

Spotify Wrapped is going down soon, and some music lovers are manipulating its results to show their most listened to songs of 2024 – no judgement.

“I’m going to hack Spotify HQ before Spotify Wrapped comes out because I’d rather be in jail than have my main genre be country,” wrote one person on X (formerly Twitter).

This was just one of many tweets regarding the anticipation of Spotify’s upcoming Wrapped 2024 drop.

“Imagine hating me, a girl who’s just in her room trying to change the trajectory of her on-roll Spotify before it’s too late,” said another Spotify user.

“Just found out Spotify wrapped is coming soon… I have amazing taste in music so I don’t need last minute changes,” someone else said in an apparently sarcastic message.

A different X user confessed: “That time of year I’m putting a few songs on repeat to hack my wrapped Spotify.”

“Guess I need to tinker with my wrapped Spotify before it turns out to be the same thing as last year,” another person wrote.

“Gotta juggle my Spotify on wrap right now so I can make my most listened to song I didn’t accidentally fall asleep to,” another tweet read.

Meanwhile, a user X called out Spotify users who are participating in the manipulation.

“People purposely manipulating their Spotify rolls so that a song has an insane amount of hours and is really bad,” they tweeted.

Spotify teased the upcoming Wrapped drop in a press release on Wednesday, saying “the best time of the year is right around the corner.”

The company also told users to update their app that includes the Wrapped package so they can see their activity over the past year.

In 2023, Spotify Wrapped came out on Wednesday, November 29, almost a week after Thanksgiving.

On Reddit, fans have speculated that Spotify Wrapped 2024 could drop on Monday, December. 2 or Wednesday. December 4.

“I’ve noticed it’s fallen on a Wednesday every year for the past 3 years, but I really hope we don’t have to wait until 12/04 😭😭,” one person wrote in the Reddit thread.

“I can’t wait,” said another Spotify user, while someone else replied: “I’m dying bro.”

“Why do I love this so much lmao. Like last night at midnight, I kept checking hoping it would show up. And I just woke up. As if I can’t wait forever, the suspense is killing me lol,” another person wrote.

Spotify Wrapped first came out in 2016. It’s released every year between November 29th and December 6th.
